About the Event
Most of us don't go looking for trouble. But sometimes trouble finds us. So it pays to be ready when disaster strikes.
Join Army veteran and HOOVES Alumni Instructor Geoff Earnhart for this one-day class as he provides basic knowledge and skills to prepare for, live through, and recover from emergencies & disasters using modern tools and materials. Students are exposed to and practice preparedness principles and basic survival skills. The day culminates with a practical exercise inspired by real events.
Instruction takes place in a relaxed environment emphasizing learning and practice – this is not a pass/fail event. Anyone ages 12 and above of any experience and fitness level are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
This class explores the following topics:
·Preparedness principles
·Mental & emotional readiness
·Shelter Building
·Fire Building

·Signaling
·Stop the Bleed Class (Certificate of Training)
Class workbook and equipment provided; students will need to wear weather-appropriate clothing, and bring lunch/snacks, personal items, and a water bottle. Students should be prepared to spend the day outdoors.
